A touch of the big city has come to the small town of Rockford this holiday season. The storefront windows of Salon 231 in downtown Rockford have been decorated for the Christmas season similarly to what larger stores in bigger cities do for the season. Along with multicolored lights adorning the windows along the front and side of the salon, there is also a “Christmas countdown” inflatable with Santa, a snowman and a Christmas tree. The salon’s windows also feature medium-height Christmas trees inside the windows, as well as lighted gifts, stockings and more. Santa and a snowman can also be seen looking out at passersby from two of the front windows. Jessica Davison-Solis, owner and stylist at Salon 231, went above and beyond to spread some Christmas spirit in Rockford. Photos by Christa Jennings
