Photo banner in memory of Vickie Scott for her birthday.

I lost a very dear friend/bonus niece and a faithful prayer partner, Vickie Scott, in February, but was unable to attend the home-going for serious reasons, and I never was able to find a closure until October 24, when her husband, Scott, and family welcomed us to a birthday celebration and honoring her with a balloon release.
Vickie’s birthday was October 20. Happy birthday, Vickie.
We released the balloons from her beautiful backyard with a lovely photo of her hanging and blowing in the wind on a beautiful bright sunny day, just like Vickie was herself.
Vickie was a humble sweet person who always shined her bright light, even in the dark. We prayed together every week, and I really miss that.
“Pink” was our thing for the month of October, honoring and praying for all breast cancer victims. Every October she would ask me for something pink and laugh. I would give her something pink and laugh. It did not matter what it was as long as it was pink.
So for her birthday this year I gave her a pink ribbon and a pink chef’s chopping/cooking board because she loves to cook.
Scott has her room set up so beautifully with things that Vickie treasured, so he put her gift from me and Butch in her room. I cried tears of joy when we visited her room; it was so beautiful.
The celebration was awesome; good food, good music and great people. The Spirit of the Lord was all over the place. Scott’s sister, Minister Faye, outdid herself as the hostess.
Vickie was a faithful woman of God. We all will miss her.
Here is her favorite quote: “In a minute…” – Vickie Scott
“Faithfulness may not always make headlines, but it always matters to God.”
