Ronald Alan Tison Sr.

 

Ronald Alan Tison Sr. passed on August 15, 2026, at the age of 79; he was born August 8, 1947, in Jacksonville, Fla., and was a resident of Rockford, Ala.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rebecca Tison; his children, Ronald Tison Jr. (Margaret) and Tracy Turney (Bobby Jr.); his grandchildren, Aaron Turney, Jessica Irby (Hunter), Bobby Turney III, Alana Garcia (Raymond), and Ethyn Tison; his great-grandchildren, Maia, Joshua and Malachi Garcia; his sister, Mary Low; his uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Janice Keene; his cousins, Fay Lee, Barbara Martinas, and Sharon and Ted Rosian; and his nephews and niece, Reginal Tison, Marshall Davis, and Stephanie Brienson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Ruby Keene and Henry and Fannie Tison; his father, Clarence Tison; his mother, June Tison Stephens; his brother, Reginal Andrew Tison; his niece, April Farence; and a host of cousins.

Mr. Tison was a member and loved going to Sardis Baptist Church. He also loved the fire department and was very patriotic and always wore his overalls.  His hobbies were watching the weather and the news.

Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, 35150, on August 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, on August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Matthew Reams and Bro. Stanley Adams officiating.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Turney, Bobby Turney III, Hunter Irby, Ethyn Tison, Raymond Garcia, and Elijah Edmondson, with All Members of Coosa County Volunteer Fire Departments serving as honorary pallbearers.

Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 2950 Coosa County Road 459, Rockford, will serve as the final resting place.
