Wes Allen, Alabama’s secretary of state, reminds Alabama voters that county absentee election managers must receive mail-in absentee ballot applications for the August 11 special primary election for congressional districts 1, 2, 6, and 7 by Tuesday, August 4.
The deadline to return an absentee ballot application in person is Thursday, August 6.
Absentee ballots being returned in person must be received by the county absentee election manager by close of business on the day before the election, August 10.
Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received no later than noon on Election Day, August 11.
It is recommended to mail in your absentee ballot application and absentee ballots at least two weeks before the deadline for county absentee election managers to receive them.
For Coosa County, the absentee election manager is Judge of Probate Richard Dean, who can be reached at 256-377-4919, option 1.
Voters are required to present a valid form of photo identification before voting at their polling place or when requesting an absentee ballot.
