The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
I am so glad Rockford’s 250 celebration turned out well, but it was HOT. So hot everywhere that my cousins and I have been hanging out our feathers. Then it rains, it steams, and somehow we survive summer.
But there is a new anti-littering campaign afoot. I have seen signs going up, “Littering is for Losers.” Take note, Ms. Ruby! Maybe in 250 more years we can solve the litter problem.
Packaging and convenience foods have made litter worse. Recycling and cleanups have helped. So trying something new is the best we can do.
Take note, everyone. I wonder if this will work when littering is such a thoughtless process. People don’t think of themselves as losers, even if a fast food cup falls out of their window while driving, or when a cigarette butt gets dropped outside an entrance, or when their beer cans have to line a dirt road.
But they are!
Your eye in the sky,
Buzzy
