I truly love Coosa County and Rockford, where I grew up and lived until I moved to New York and lived for many years, then moved back to Rockford.
Sometimes I am happy about moving back, then again I am not, because of the attitudes. I left here very young and had no idea, or not aware of the difference between a big city and a small town.
I miss the activities I did in New York like playing paddle ball, tennis, etc., which you needed a partner to play with, but here most people have no interest, females (my age) I am speaking of.
Is it an age thing? Maybe I am too old (haha). Well, I am feeling it now after waiting on them to catch up.
There are other things that get under my skin more in Rockford, and that is people are not concerned about important things that go on wrongly and not do something about it.
The mail system is so out of touch, and I see nothing being done about it. I mailed a package (certified) in January of this year, and the party has not received it yet. Mail is being put in the wrong box, mail runs whenever, all times of the day, etc., and it seems OK with the people of small towns.
Now the Water Board is being affected by the mail or something. We have gotten our water bill late, after the deadline to pay, and we have had to pay a late fee.
Things have gotten crazy, even in some churches. There is no structure. People do what they want, wear what they want, say what they want, and it’s OK with the leaders. Leaders are following the followers instead of guiding them in the right directions.
They’re compromising their sins, and that’s everywhere. However, small towns linger to correct.
Bravo to Central Coosa Coach Flowers and his boys for their win over B.B. Comer 54-18. Congratulations on a big win.
Charity began at home, and the fans let it be known last Friday night. Coach Flowers is a confident confidant coach, and I admire that about him. He is a great coach.
Happy birthday to our grandson Jacob Thrash on September 29, and in memories of my niece Carrie Tuck, who shares the same day, and to all September born.
Let’s pray for churches who are at a loss for words and for our country, schools and homes.
