The Coosa County Training/J.D. Thompson Alumni members have planned a quilt exhibit for June 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school building.
The Quilts in the Grove exhibit will showcase traditional and modern quilts, dolls and other fiber arts creations. There will be a $5 donation to view the quilt exhibit.
The event will also include a Juneteenth display and history discussions with Spencer and Lattie Hardy and Denim Fashions with the Jazzercisers/Sewers.
Additionally, the Grove Food Concession will be open, Kelly Produce will have your favorite fruits and vegetables, and there will be other vendors. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy this event, celebrating the history of quilts and Juneteenth.
Please call 404-435-8823 for more information or to pre-register your quilt. There is a $20 quilt entry fee. Quilts can be delivered to the alumni building on June 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
