A man who resides in the Goodwater area was arrested last month on a drug-related charge.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on May 11, Sgt. Ward, along with Goodwater Police Department, was patrolling the Goodwater area when officers noticed an individual riding a bicycle. They recognized the individual as someone they knew had outstanding warrants in Tallapoosa County.
Officers made contact with the bicyclist and patted him down for weapons. In that process, they reportedly found a baggy of a crystal-like substance and a glass pipe containing residue.
Ultimately 28-year-old Kytn William Wentzell was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His total bond for both charges has been set at $7,500. As of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
