Pastor Ray Franklin’s new home in the Union Square community.

Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
We enjoyed a wonderful service on Sunday, Mother’s Day, at Rockford Baptist Church, where Pastor Jeff Fuller is overseer. The guest speaker was Pastor Ray Franklin from Florida. However, he is a new resident of Alabama now, in the Union Square community.
Pastor Ray and his wife, Amy, moved from Florida, built a house in Union Square, retired from pastoring in Florida for 38 years, and now living it up to the max and still serving God in a mighty way. He preached Sunday like he was still the man in Florida, and after recovering from a serious surgery.
He preached from the book of Proverbs 3:5, “Trust God.” To trust God we need the Holy Ghost to help us, especially when the unexpected happens and we don’t know what to do. We find a scripture to read, and the Holy Spirit will guide and speak to you. We must have a relationship with God to trust Him effectively.
Pastor Ray spoke highly of great mothers in the Bible and some earthly ones. He did a great job preaching the Word. The sweet atmosphere in the church made a big difference. The choir sang so beautifully, and Mrs. Debbie Mullins blessed my soul with her singing and playing the piano.
Pastor Fuller surprised me with his nice singing. I didn’t know he could sing, almost as well as his wife, Lady Tina (smile).
Happy birthday to our neighbor/friend, Kathy J. Smiley, who loves her fur babies as much as Ran loves Thor.
Happy birthday to Madison Hill-Ellison and to all May born. A special birthday wish to Elder Stephine Fields, who has a special place in my heart forever.
Thank you, Buzzy, for your help. You are correct. I, too, believe that trashy people don’t know that they are trashy. That’s what they are familiar with. I believe I will win this complaint contest.
My column is short this week. I am having some back issues. Still praying for our country and sick loved ones.
