The Coosa County Republican Party will be hosting a Candidate Fair on Saturday, April 11, and encourages all to attend to learn more about local and state Republican candidates.
The Candidate Fair will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Old Rockford School, located at 8840 Coosa County Road 18. It is a come and go style event, and free hamburgers and hot dogs will be available.
As of press time, 10 local candidates and 11 state candidates are scheduled to attend the event. This offers area residents the opportunity for one-on-one time with the candidates and to meet and greet as many candidates as possible prior to the primary election.
Local Republican candidates scheduled to attend are Revenue Commissioner Debra Lamberth; District 1 Board of Education Member Sharon Massie; Kimberly Crowe, candidate for Board of Education District 4; District 4 Board of Education Member Sharon Coffmann; District 1 County Commissioner John Forbus; Matthew Reams, candidate for County Commission District 4; Johnnie Schmidt, candidate for County Commission District 4; Dillon Adams, candidate for County Commission District 5; District 5 County Commissioner Lamar Daugherty; and Sheriff Michael Howell.
State candidates scheduled to attend are Pat Bishop, Nicole Wadsworth and John Wahl for lieutenant governor; Glenda Jackson for secretary of state; Jay Mitchell and Pamela Casey for attorney general; Case Dixon for U.S. Congress; Barry Moore, Dale Deas and Seth Burton for U.S. Senate; and Matt Gentry for the Public Service Commission.
