A man and woman from Weogufka were arrested last Thursday on a drug-related charge, with the man facing additional charges.
On March 5, the Coosa County Department of Human Resources provided the Sheriff’s Office with drug screening test results on Christopher Michael Palmer and Ashton Mackenzie Lytton. Both tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Additionally, a minor child living with them also tested positive for meth.
Based on the investigation and interviews, on March 6, 45-year-old Palmer and 27-year-old Lytton were both arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child.
Bonds for each of them were set at $10,000. Lytton was released on bond March 7 to await trial, and Palmer was released on bond March 9.
Anyone who sees or observes suspicious activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
