Zenephia Anquiette Odem
By Christa Jennings
A Goodwater woman was arrested Sunday related to hallucinogenic drugs in a case stemming from late last month.
On February 21, Deputy Kelley was patrolling County Road 511 in the Goodwater area when he observed a vehicle failing to maintain lanes.
He initiated a traffic stop, and while walking up to the vehicle he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
He advised the driver of why she was stopped and asked her to step out and talk to him because children were in the car. The driver told Kelley that the car’s dashboard storage contained some pills.
Kelley checked the vehicle and recovered a bag containing 19 multicolored pills. Because of his training, he believed them to be ecstasy pills.
He placed the pills into evidence, and the driver was released at that time.
After further investigation, on March 8, Deputy Kelley made contact with the subject, identified as 35-year-old Zenephia Anquiette Odem. She was placed under arrest and charged with possession of hallucinogens.
Her bond was set at $5,000. She was released on bond March 11 to await trial.
