A Lineville woman and Kellyton man were arrested Tuesday on burglary- and theft-related charges from the Nixburg area.
On Tuesday, February 17, the Sheriff’s Office received a call for a burglary in progress on County Road 61. The caller reported seeing the individuals on his phone, which was connected to cameras on the property.
Upon the arrival of several deputies, two individuals were detained while evidence was gathered.
During the investigation, it was found that there were several items on a trailer attached to the suspect’s truck. The items were identified by the victim as coming from his property.
Ultimately the investigation led to the arrests of 39-year-old Angel Nicole Baker of Lineville and 44year-old Kevin Michael Butts of Kellyton.
Each of them were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft of property, possession of burglary tools, and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Each of their bonds for all four charges was set at $22,500. As of press time Baker and Butts remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
