Central High School is proud to recognize Ashley Jones, a seventh grader, as a February Student of the Month. Ashley, the daughter of Greg Jones from the Sylacauga community, lists math as her favorite subject because “Mrs. Belyeu makes it make sense.”
Her teachers describe her as a student who comes to class fully prepared and eager to learn, consistently meeting high expectations with outstanding work. Ashley has shown impressive growth in English class since the beginning of the school year, and her dedication and hard work have truly paid off. Teachers also note that she is a strong math student who works meticulously to ensure her assignments and assessments are completed correctly.
In addition to excelling academically, Ashley enjoys playing volleyball. After high school, Ashley hopes to become a veterinarian.
Ashley’s positive attitude, steady improvement, and commitment to success make her a wonderful representative of Central High School.

Central High School proudly recognizes Kadara Adamson as the eighth grade February Student of the Month.
Teachers describe Kadara as one of the kindest students they have ever met. She works extremely hard to complete all her assignments and cares deeply about her work. Kadara is respectful to both peers and teachers and consistently demonstrates a positive attitude in the classroom. Her favorite subject is science because she enjoys conducting lab experiments.
In addition to her strong work ethic, Kadara has not missed a single day of school this year. Her consistent attendance and academic excellence demonstrate her commitment to her education.
After high school, Kadara hopes to become an artist.
Kadara’s sweet spirit, determination and kindness make her a valued member of the Central High School family.

Central High School is pleased to recognize Lazora Adamson, a ninth grader, as a February Student of the Month. Lazora is the daughter of Lanora Adamson.
Lazora enjoys science, especially conducting lab experiments. She also shares that she enjoys math and learning new concepts.
Teachers describe Lazora as a good student who tries hard and is gradually coming out of her shell. Her steady growth, effort and willingness to participate reflect her commitment to improvement.
After high school, Lazora has expressed an interest in becoming an artist.
Lazora’s positive attitude and developing confidence make her a deserving Student of the Month honoree.

Central High School proudly recognizes Perla Morales, a tenth grader, as a February Student of the Month. Perla is the daughter of Maria and Gustavo Morales from Alexander City.
Perla lists chemistry as her favorite subject because she enjoys learning about scientific concepts, as well as learning how to balance equations.
Perla leads SGA projects, competes in FBLA events, mentors students in Beta Club, and cheers enthusiastically with the Diamond Dolls.
Teachers describe Perla as an excellent student who makes strong grades, stays on task and is always willing to help others.
After high school, Perla plans to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner, most likely in emergency medicine or trauma care, and hopes to one day serve with Doctors Without Borders.
Perla’s leadership, academic excellence and heart for service make her an outstanding representative of Central High School.

Central High School proudly recognizes Jani Garcia, an eleventh grader, as a February Student of the Month. Jani is the daughter of Lillian Cruz from Coosa County.
Jani lists math as her favorite subject because she loves solving problems.
Jani is also a member of SGA and yearbook.
After high school, Jani plans to attend Central Alabama Community College to pursue nursing.
Teachers describe Jani as a kind student who takes advantage of every opportunity she is given. She works carefully, strives to excel academically and consistently shows respect for others. Jani’s strong character, work ethic and determination to succeed make her an outstanding example of what it means to be a Central High School student.

Central High School is honored to recognize Demetric Embry, a twelfth grader, as a February Student of the Month. Demetric is the son of Edward and Sandra Embry.
Demetric enjoys math because it is fun.
Demetric also enjoys football, basketball, wrestling, and dodgeball, as well as helping clean hallways in the evenings and assisting wherever needed.
Teachers have noted tremendous growth in Demetric this year. He has been working hard in his Career Tech Education classes, earning several industry-recognized certifications and beginning to explore post-secondary training and career opportunities. His increasing confidence, greeting teachers and asking for help when needed, reflects his maturity and progress. Demetric’s dedication and growth make him a deserving recipient of this honor.
