The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirms that a special agent assigned to ALEA’s SWAT Team was struck by gunfire during an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday, February 11, at approximately 5:51 p.m. in the 4000 block of Longleaf Drive in Montgomery, located within Montgomery County.
The special agent was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred when ALEA SWAT and officers assigned to the Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit were working an enforcement detail in Montgomery.
The situation is currently under active investigation. No further details are available at this time.
