During a quarterly Executive Committee meeting on Sept. 17, 2025, Coosa County Republican Party Chair Chuck Bradley announced his resignation, effective immediately. Bradley said he had enjoyed serving as leader of the local party for several years, but felt it was time for new leadership.
At the meeting, it was also noted that the position of vice chair had recently become vacant. Mallory Bullard Whitley agreed to serve in the role and was elected vice chair at the September meeting.
A subsequent Executive Committee meeting was held in December, during which Lamar Daugherty was nominated and elected chair. Daugherty currently serves District 5 on the Coosa County Commission.
Chair Daugherty noted that several positions on the Coosa County Republican Party Executive Committee remain vacant. He expressed hope that these roles will be filled by dedicated volunteers who understand the importance of maintaining a strong local Republican Party and supporting Republican candidates and elected officials.
Those interested in serving are encouraged to contact any member of the Executive Committee for more information. The party may also be reached by email at coosacountyrepublicans@gmail.com.
