Two men from Sylacauga and Goodwater were arrested last month in the Stewartville area after attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
On November 19, Deputy Payton responded to the Stewartville area for a possible burglary in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, he observed a vehicle with its lights on and the passenger door open.
He proceeded to clear the area and noticed where someone had fled on foot into the woods. Payton searched the woodline, and two individuals made themselves known.
Donald Chase Ray; 26 years old, of Sylacauga; and 27-year-old Robert Charles Kelley of Goodwater were both arrested the same day and charged with attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. Both individuals also had outstanding warrants for other agencies.
Bond for each of them was set at $2,500. As of press time, Ray and Kelley both remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
