Pastor Franklin has been blessing Rockford Church of God since he arrived in Rockford. Some Sundays ago he preached a message on learning to trust Jesus.
He reminded us how good God is, preaching from II Kings 4:1 and I King. It is a process to stay focused on the goodness of God. The Word will stand.
Last Sunday he preached on being careful what and who you choose. Your choice can affect you forever.
Pastor Franklin spoke very boldly the message God had given him. However, he said he was shaking and nervous while standing there preaching, not wanting to say what God had given him, but he had to be obedient and bold and did a very great job speaking to the young and old.
God honors our boldness when we come to Him with an obedient spirit and heart. There are times we must be bold, even in prayer and other things.
I have been accused of being too bold sometimes. I have no problem speaking boldness, telling the truth. The truth hurts, but you can grow through pain.
Psalm 119:71 reads, “It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.”
Affliction through pain can be our teacher, taking us from being astray from God to choosing to obey His Word. Like our brains, our spirits are capable of being stretched. God uses the stretching to cause growth and renewal.
Through scripture, prayer and a spirit-inspired perspective, He can reverse the effect of our hardships. He can use our afflictions for our spiritual growth, transforming pain into purpose.
