A 2024 graduate of Central High School Coosa County and attendee at Rockford Church of God was killed in a wreck last Thursday.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the multi-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:41 a.m. Thursday, November 20, and claimed the life of 19-year-old Kaylee Ann Veitch, an Equality resident.
ALEA reported that Veitch was fatally injured when the 2020 Nissan Altima she was driving collided head-on with a 2018 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Shun B. Griffin, 48, of Goodwater. After the initial collision, the Altima then struck a 2019 Chevrolet Express van driven by Camron B. Sheffer, 24, of Fort Cavazos, Texas.
According to ALEA Veitch was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 231 near the 198-mile marker, approximately seven miles east of Weogufka, near the Hanover community in Coosa County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
