On Friday, September 12, ADOC Correctional Officer Senior Joshua Joyner was arrested by the Auburn Police Department following a traffic stop.
During a search of his vehicle, approximately two pounds of marijuana was discovered. ADOC narcotics agents arrived to assist the local police.
Agents then executed a search warrant at Joyner’s residence in Montgomery. During the search, agents recovered approximately four more pounds of marijuana.
Joyner, an officer at Kilby Correctional Facility, was transported to the Lee County Jail and has been charged with first-degree possession of marijuana. He has resigned his position at ADOC.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending for Montgomery County.
