Talladega woman dies in Clay County crash

A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:37 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, has claimed the life of a Talladega woman.
Amanda H. Williams, 42, was critically injured when the 2008 Honda CRV she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Williams was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Clay County Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
A 10-year-old, who was a passenger in the Honda, was also injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 9, approximately two miles south of Ashland, in Clay County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
