A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 26, has claimed the life of an Opp woman.
Carol A. Kingsbury, 71, was fatally injured when the 2025 Cam-Am Spyder RT motorcycle she was operating struck the rear-end of the Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra motorcycle operated by Samuel R. Hazen, 67, also from Opp.
After the initial collision, the Cam-Am overturned, subsequently throwing Kingsbury from the motorcycle. Kingsbury was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Hazen was not injured as a result of the collision.
The crash occurred on Covington County Road 82 near Murray Road, approximately one mile west of Gantt, in Covington County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
