A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. Sunday, July 27, has claimed the life of a Madison woman.
Zamaria T. Whetstone, 24, was fatally injured when the 2015 Hyundai Sonata she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Whetstone was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 148 near the 10-mile marker, approximately five miles from Sylacauga city limits, in Clay County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
