The County Commission’s July meeting was relatively short, with action taken on a handful of items.
The Commission is getting the ball rolling toward beginning two more road projects. During its meeting, commissioners unanimously approved and accepted bids so that work can soon begin for those projects.
The County Road 70 project was awarded to Chilton County Contractors Inc., with a bid of $578,585.44.
County Road 511’s project was awarded to Gary Ingram Grading & Paving Inc. for $929,824.15.
The Commission also unanimously approved advertising items from the former Extension Office, the rock building next to the courthouse, online on GovDeals.
Additionally, the Commission also unanimously approved advertising numerous stacks of bricks located at the Department of Human Resources building on GovDeals.
Commissioners also unanimously approved Chair Lamar Daugherty signing the updated Association of County Commissions of Alabama Liability Self-Insurance Property Program Declaration page.
In other business, the Commission reviewed a quote from C & G Quality Enterprises of $5,406 to repair a leaking roof at the Sheriff’s Office. The item was tabled until the next Commission meeting.
The next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Coosa County Commission will be held at 9 a.m. August 12.
