A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, has claimed the life of a Pell City woman.
The pedestrian, Kristi D. Browning, 55, was fatally injured after being struck by the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Matthew J. Preece, 29, of Anniston. Browning was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Interstate 20 near the 208-mile marker, approximately three miles east of Heflin, in Cleburne County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
