Special to the News
The Weogufka Center recently sponsored its annual Day Camp on June 18, with a patriotic theme as “Red, White and Blue Day.”
It was such a fun learning day for all kids and adults who attended. The Weogufka Center thanks the Sheriff’s Office and Deputy Payton, along with Archie, for the K-9 demonstration, and veteran Mike Holmes for the history lesson and teaching everyone about the symbolic meanings of the American flag.
Martha Mooney also did an amazing job of organizing all of the activities in the Children’s Barn. Attendees were able to enjoy grilled hot dogs by Scott Dobson and Pete Rogers.
All the volunteers work so hard to make the center a fun place, and we will soon present “A Blast from the Past!” Interested youngsters or adults, please text Gay Adams at 256-487-1304 or email gayadams@mac.com.
The date will be listed on the Weogufka Center Facebook page. Stay tuned for more information soon.
