The Sheriff’s Office has made numerous arrests for warrants and probation violations recently.
On May 28, Deputy Moeser went to the address of Russell Jeff Smallwood on U.S. Highway 231 to serve a warrant. Smallwood, 37 years old of Stewartville, was arrested for violation of a protection from abuse order.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he was released on bond the same day to await trial.
On June 2, Deputy Moeser was dispatched to Tallapoosa County Jail to pick up a subject for an outstanding warrant. Richard Daniel Ragland, 46 years old of Alexander City, was arrested for probation violation.
Ragland is held on no bond and as such remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
On June 9, Deputy Brown went to Tallapoosa County Jail to pick up Jaden Lawrence Beckwood for an outstanding warrant.
Beckwood, 20 years old of Alexander City, was arrested on four probation violations, all for second-degree possession of marijuana charges. He received no bond and remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail.
On June 11, 41-year-old Brian Todd Roberson of Sylacauga was picked up from Sylacauga Pardons and Paroles and arrested for a probation violation. He remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail with no bond set.
On June 13, after an extensive search for Eric Jason Landers for a probation violation, Landers turned himself in.
Landers, 53 years old of Weogufka, was arrested for probation violation. He received no bond and remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail.
