A Coosa County man was arrested earlier this month on a drug-related charge following a traffic stop.
On the night of May 7, Deputy Brown conducted a traffic stop on County Road 29 in the Weogufka area. Upon obtaining and running the individual’s driver’s license, it came back revoked.
Brown notified the driver that the vehicle would have to be towed. As part of that process, a vehicle inventory was conducted prior to towing, and a clear glass container with a small amount of a crystal-like substance, which field tested positive for methamphetamine, was found in the vehicle.
Early on May 8, 49-year-old Aaron Paul Turner of Coosa County was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he was released on bond on May 9 to await trial.
