On Tuesday morning the County Commission kicked off its meeting with a special presentation honoring a local man for his service and involvement in his community.
District 4 County Commissioner Ronnie Joiner presented David Dial of Equality with a Certificate of Recognition, recognizing Dial for his “faithful and dedicated service to his community and Coosa County.”
The certificate read, “Whereas David Dial gives unselfishly in many areas to support Coosa Countians through emergency response, time, monetary donations, and multiple churches’ many varied programs and functions; whereas David Dial is a 25-year volunteer with the Equality Volunteer Fire Department; whereas David Dial responds day, night and weekends, anytime he is called upon for fire response, medical assistance, disaster relief, or simply assisting his neighbors in their times of need; whereas David Dial routinely and actively assists elderly and disabled Coosa Countians not only during times of natural disaster, but also at all times of the day and night by providing emergency medical aid or assisting them due to falls or other difficulties; whereas David Dial does not limit his efforts to helping only his community, but Coosa County as a whole, especially during times of emergency, but also by regularly distributing food at multiple food banks, leading and organizing Neighborhood Watch meetings, organizing social events; and whereas David Dial is a citizen who sets the example of what ‘community involvement’ truly means.”
The Certificate of Recognition closes with a statement that “David Dial is ‘a good, kind and caring neighbor. David Dial is a friend to all.’”
Some members of the Equality community and Equality Volunteer Fire Department were on hand for the special presentation and to recognize their friend and community member.
