Two individuals from Anniston were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.
On May 5, deputies Moeser and Payton were on route patrol on U.S. Highway 231 when they observed a vehicle swerving continuously.
After following the vehicle for a while, they noticed it was still swerving and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies made contact with the two individuals in the vehicle and conducted a field sobriety test to be sure the driver was safe to drive.
Payton then asked for permission to search the vehicle, with permission being granted. That search led to finding two clear glass pipes with burnt residue and 0.55 grams of a clear crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Connie Irene Hargrove, 60 years old, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Adrian Keith Geeting, 44 years old, was arrested and charged with use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Hargrove’s total bond was set at $7,500. As of press time she remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail.
Geeting’s bond was set at $2,500, and he was released on bond on Tuesday, May 6, to await trial.
Anyone who suspects or observes illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
