Special to the News
Central alumni Rebekah Burton and Abigail Hyatt, currently students at Central Alabama Community College, are part of a project team developing an experiment to be performed on the International Space Station.
Rebekah and Abigail’s team competed against 12 other teams, and we are proud to share that their team was one of three teams who were chosen to move on to the next step.
Rebekah and Abigail’s team’s experiment is about HeLa cancer cell growth. In the second step, the team’s proposed experiment will be evaluated by representatives from the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education. Rebekah and Abigail are students in CACCs new NARS-4001 course.
Congratulations to Rebekah and Abigail for being chosen as one of the top three teams. The Central Cougars are behind you as you continue in the next step of the competition. Once a Cougar, always a Cougar.
