The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
It has been brought to my attention that trying to encourage the legislators to support particular bills in favor of community journalism is 1) political and 2) nearly impossible. This is not a political column, and possibility is relative.
There is a sure sign of spring on the horizon: Community politics are heating up, with candidates filing and advertising for mayoral positions. How many towns across the state will elect a new mayor this year?
How much information about local elections will be available online only? As with legal notices, small-town newspaper editors prompt the flow of information. This would also happen in legislative elections. Think about it.
These wonderful editors have a tough enough job without musing about collective media action. I guess it is up to buzzards to dream the impossible dream.
Your eye in the sky,
Buzzy
