Central Elementary’s first Math Night was a huge success. This year’s theme was “For the Love of Math,” centered around the Valentine’s Day holiday.
The event inspired a love of math for students and parents, as teachers showed families how to have fun playing math games. Attendees also enjoyed math-related snacks and of course taking pictures to commemorate the event.
Thank you to all the teachers who assisted and the Central High School SGA members who volunteered, but most of all thank you to the parents for joining us and showing their child the importance of math education.
Events such as these are part of the implementation of the Alabama Numeracy Act, which aims to improve math proficiency for Alabama’s elementary students. The event was coordinated by CES Math Coach Jessica Adams.
Mrs. Adams said, “This was our first math night, but definitely not the last. We hope you all had an absolute blast and will continue the math fun at home.”
