A two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 6 p.m. Monday, February 3, has claimed the life of an Oxford man.
The pedestrian; Herbert M. Blair, 61, who was walking in the roadway; was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2016 Nissan Maxima driven by Norma T. Herrera, 37, of Anniston.
After the initial collision, Blair was then struck by the 2017 Honda HR-V driven by Michelle L. Gamble, 34, of Heflin. Blair was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 202 near the 3-mile marker, approximately three miles west of Anniston, in Calhoun County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
