Two men of the Marble Valley community in northwest Coosa County were arrested last Monday on assault charges following a report in the same community.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on January 13, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a fight in progress with weapons involved in the Marble Valley community.
Upon arrival, deputies met with the individuals involved at two different locations and investigated the case.
That investigation led to 49-year-old Brian Shawn Duke being arrested and charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Additionally, 22-year-old Brantley Shawn Duke was arrested on the charge of second-degree assault.
Brian’s total bond was set at $15,000, and Brantley’s bond was set at $10,000. Both were released on bond on January 15 to await trial.
Anyone who suspects or observes illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
