A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday, January 6, has claimed the life of an Irondale police officer.
Mark A. Meadows, 60, of Moody, was critically injured when he was struck by the 2010 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Evan N. Sullivan, 32, of Leeds.
Meadows was transported to Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham where he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Grants Mill Road, within the Irondale city limits, in Jefferson County. Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
