On December 3, agents from the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Law Enforcement Services Division (LESD), assisted by K9 and Security Threat Group personnel, apprehended Alesia
Jarett, a correctional security guard at Elmore Correctional Facility, on charges related to narcotics trafficking.
Jarett, who was under investigation for suspected drug smuggling into the correctional facility, was found in possession of approximately 250 grams of methamphetamine. LESD agents were able to gather critical intelligence that led to her arrest.
Jarett faces charges including conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, use of position for personal gain and promoting prison contraband (second degree).
She was transported to the Elmore County Detention Facility for processing.
The ADOC is committed to maintaining security within its facilities and holding its employees to the highest standards.
The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be pending.
