A Rockford man was arrested Sunday for interference following multiple calls to 911.
On November 10, Deputy Payton responded to a call at Rockwood Apartments in Rockford for interference with the 911 system.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that the individual had called 911 multiple times with false information and cursing the dispatchers over the phone.
Payton responded to the scene and made contact with John Anthony Presley, 63 years old, of Rockford. Upon making contact, Presley reportedly became irate, at which time Payton used hands-on measures to get him to the ground.
Ultimately, Presley was arrested and charged with interference with public safety communication and resisting arrest.
No bond had been set as of press time, and he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
