A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:55 a.m. Monday, September 9, has claimed two lives.
Troy S. Patterson, 55, of Seminary, Mississippi, was fatally injured when the 2003 Ford Ranger he had initially been driving was struck by the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Jason M. Moore, 52, of Walters, Oklahoma.
Prior to being struck by the Chevrolet, the Ford had crashed and was overturned in the roadway. Patterson and a passenger of the Ford, Eva J. Easterling, 53, of Seminary, Mississippi, were both pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger of the Chevrolet, William H. Corbell, 44, of Van Buren, Arkansas, was injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Interstate 20 near the 170-mile marker in Lincoln, in Talladega County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
