Last Friday, August 23, Goodwater Fire Department EMS Captain Brian Ward graduated from the Paramedic Program at the Regional Training Institute (RTI) in Gardendale.
Captain Ward has earned his National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification at the Paramedic level and has earned his Alabama Paramedic license from the Alabama Department of Public Health – Office of EMS.
The paramedic program at RTI is a one-year program consisting of three semesters of classroom lectures, along with 405 hours of field and clinical internship.
Goodwater Fire Department is now working to once again become a Paramedic-level service in Coosa County.
Ward’s wife, Heather, and son, Ollis, were in attendance for his graduation ceremony, as well as Goodwater’s EMS personnel.
