Cougars’ Hyatt throws no-hitter to defeat LaFayette
Abigail Hyatt was brilliant on the rubber, as Hyatt threw a no-hitter to lead Cougars past LaFayette 18-1. Hyatt got the start for the Cougars in the circle. Hyatt lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out six. The Cougars racked up 15 hits. Emma Whaley led the Cougars to victory by driving in four runs as she went 3-for-4 at the plate. Whaley drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the first, and a single in the second. Whaley, Reagan Cardwell, Abbeie Smith, Kelly, Hyatt, and Kali Snell all had multiple hits for Cougars. Smith, Cardwell, and Whaley each collected three hits to lead the Cougars. Cougars stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Reese Lee led the way with two.
Cougars’ Hawthorne hits homerun against Dadeville
Although the Cougars fell to Dadeville 11-10 on Tuesday on the final play of the game, there was much for the Lady Cougars to be proud of in Tuesday’s game. One of the highlights of the game was the homerun hit over the left-center fence by number 14 Brynlee Hawthorne in the third inning, scoring two runs for the Lady Cougars. The game was tied at 10 with Dadeville batting in the bottom of the seventh when Mckinley drew a walk, scoring one run.
