The J. D. Thompson High School Alumni Association will host a fall festival for senior citizens on October 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This fun festival will take place at the white elementary alumni building located at 1854 Coosa County Road 93 in the Cottage Grove community.
There will be activities for all age groups, and a snack will be served. While there is no charge, the alumni association is requesting a $5 donation for the festival.
The fall festival will include some favorite board games such as dominoes, bingo and checkers, or for those who are creative, individuals can decorate a pumpkin to take home.
There will also be a Health & Wellness session led by Coach Doris Gamble focusing on exercise for aging adults. The association is always excited to have her demonstrate exercises people can do while standing, sitting in front of the TV, or at the kitchen table.
Other activities will include touring the building archives or just enjoying the company of old friends and new friends. Please make plans to attend, and remember to dress comfortably.
