During Tuesday morning’s meeting of the County Commission, commissioners heard a presentation from Dennis Hill, chair of the Coosa County Animal Shelter, providing updates and asking for funding from the county of $10,000 annually to help the shelter.
During discussion the commission favorably discussed looking into using American Rescue Plan Act funds to help the shelter get off the ground and further mentioned possibly helping the shelter with operation costs for multiple years. The commission will be looking into the possibility and, depending on fund availability, is considering providing $30,000 to $50,000 for the animal shelter.
See next week’s edition for more details from the meeting.
