Seventeen alumni plus family and friends came back to C.A. Doyle Field to play in the inaugural softball alumni game. Thank you to Addi Whaley and Beverly Burks for organizing the event, as well as Coach Elliott and Coach Weeks for preparing the field. Weeks also umpired the game in which his mom, Kimberly Moncreif, and aunt, Kelli Hilyer, played. The field is named in honor of Moncrief and Hilyer’s dad and Weeks’ grandfather, Coach Doyle. The alumni game raised more than $400 for the Central softball program and built camaraderie among the former players. As Addi Whaley stated, “It brought back great memories for me…just to get out there on the field again was amazing!” Pictured are Kimberly Moncrief and Christie Crumbley from the very first softball team at Central in 1989. Also pictured are the alumni with their kids. Thank you to Rachael Smith for the pictures.
