The Weogufka HIPPY, or Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, program ended on May 17 with a wonderful graduation ceremony held in the beautiful newly renovated auditorium at the Weogufka Center for Arts, Entertainment and Education.
Several families were in attendance; including parents, children, brothers, and sisters; as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles. Weogufka Center volunteers were on hand to assist in the activities.
The children wore their caps and gowns and marched down the middle of the auditorium and up onto the stage as “Pomp and Circumstance” played over the loud speaker.
After the ceremony, families joined together to have dinner on the front lawn in true picnic fashion. Fried chicken, potato salad, lemonade, watermelon, cookies, and cupcakes were enjoyed by all.
The children took home “picnic baskets” filled with summertime favors, including bubble soap and sunglasses. It was a fun time for everyone.
The pictures and memories will definitely be remembered in the pages of our HIPPY scrapbook.
Weogufka HIPPY would like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer!
