Congratulations to Coach Jovin Hunter on being recognized as the October Teacher of the Month. His dedication to his students, athletes and school community embody the strength, integrity and commitment that define an outstanding educator, coach and role model.
Hunter hails from Eufaula. He is a proud graduate of Tuskegee University, where he played football while earning his degree.
At Central, Hunter teaches seventh grade geography and civics and eighth grade ancient world history and is the defensive coordinator for the Central Cougars football team.
When asked what he enjoys most about teaching, Hunter said, “It is the opportunity to make a positive impact on the next generation, while building relationships and helping students reach their full potential.”
Hunter’s teaching and coaching philosophy are centered around discipline, accountability, respect, hard work, and believing in every child, even when they may not believe in themselves.
Hunter added, “My faith and family are my biggest motivations, and I strive every day to be a positive role model and mentor for my students and athletes. At the end of the day, I want to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared, pushed young people to be their best and helped prepare them for life beyond the classroom and football field.”
Congratulations, Coach Hunter; we are blessed to have you as part of our staff.
