Union Square News

We all have four seasons of life to experience. It’s up to us to enjoy the benefit of them all without complaining – too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet.
Now there are other kinds of seasons, also, the good, the bad and the ugly. However, we can learn and grow from each one and will not have time to complain.
I am in a season now that I will not complain, just thank God, laugh and be happy. God is working on me and blessing me, all at the same time. I am enjoying Jesus.
Sometimes in our season we ask ourselves, “Where are you, God?” and knowing He will never leave us. God is answering many prayers for me. I am being so blessed by His Word lately that I can almost hear Jesus’ heartbeat, then I laugh, and that’s good.
This past Sunday was another good day, with the message coming from Minister Roland Hazel from Matthew 5:13, “How Salty are You?”
Salt is very valuable for all things, but it’s no good by itself. Jesus said we are already the salt, but we’ve got to use that salt for others and not just for ourselves. Throw the salt on our families, friends and unsaved loved ones.
We are the salt. We Christians must be the light of the world and be that salt.
Salt is so valuable that in the old days soldiers were paid with salt.
It was a great message.
Another great blessing I received from God came from a powerful man of God, Pastor Grady Cook of Mt. Pisgah Church of Titus. Cook preached from Psalm 31, “Put it in His Hand” at the Tuesday’s fellowship hour at First Baptist Church of Rockford.
If there’s anything you want, put it all in the hand of God, and for His namesake, remember who God is. He is our rock and refuge.
You cannot give in, give up, nor give out; just give it over. Cook blessed the house and surely me.
It’s a blessing when you are reminded of God’s love and who He is.
Happy birthday to two of my favorite fellows, Bryson “B” Carden, “Little Joe” I call him, and to the greatest young preacher of all the seasons, Pastor Chris Hill.
I have been blessed to have such great leaders/pastors in my life, who all were born in October: My angel, Pastor Michel White of Church of the Living God in Bronx, N.Y. (deceased); Pastor Dearl Lett of Rockford Church of God (deceased); and Pastor Stanford Benson of Rockford First Baptist, who will celebrate his birthday next week. Rockford wishes him a happy birthday, and happy birthday to all October babies.
Praying for our sick loved ones and others. Let’s deal with these changing weather days, people’s attitudes, etc., and let’s laugh a little.
