My nephew and neighbor, who is a blessing to me and is being blessed, at a friend’s wedding.

Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
There is not much of anything going on in Union Square this week that I am aware of at this moment.
However, my two Union Square girls Opie and Kaylyn Gould are being blessed by God and their grandparents, Lynne and Tim Taylor. I thank God for people like them and for being our Union Square neighbors and friends.
They have been a great asset to the Union Square community in many ways and have brought much joy. Mother Nature is shown every day through them.
They are just great folks, “as the old people will say ‘folks.’” Tim and Lynne have laid a great foundation for Opie and Kaylyn.
I thank God, also, for my Union Square neighbor/nephew, who is being blessed and has made a huge difference in the neighborhood, although he is a quiet soul, humble and a little shy and modest.
He is a hardworking guy who wants to succeed in life and is doing a great job, and I want to give him his flowers before they get old and dried up.
I told him I wanted to write about him. He said, “You can tell me.” I said, “I want to tell the world how proud I am of you,” and I am.
It was not always easy for him growing up. His dad, my brother, was always on the “go,” and he and his brother spent a lot of time with his grandmother, my mom, and he learned much wisdom from her. He says she was a tough lady.
When he first met Butch, he said to him, “You got to love Aunt Ruby if she’s anything like her mommy (Big Mommy),” and he found it to be true. I fuss a lot was number one, Butch told him. I want everything gone right, in order and on my time (laugh).
Happy birthday to Chat Lee, Bonnie Abrams, Charles Simpson, Shirley Ogle, Pastor Ray Franklin, and all September born.
Prayer list: Union Square’s loved ones, Mother Laverne Hannon, Warren Hannon, Bessie Leonard, Charlyne DeBardelaben, Lady Vickie Hicks, Kim Hill, and all loved ones.

I love you, Mamie Maxwell Ellis. You always do a wonderful job at whatever job you do.
