After winning the Republican Party primary last month, Matthew Reams has now officially joined the Coosa County Commission.
Last Friday, June 5, Reams was sworn into office by Judge of Probate Richard Dean, who administered the oath of office. This followed Reams having received an appointment letter from Gov. Kay Ivey just the day before.
Reams’ family was on hand for his swearing-in ceremony, along with others to congratulate him and wish him well in this new chapter of his life.
Last Friday’s swearing-in also meant that Reams was able to be part of Tuesday’s County Commission meeting as he officially took the District 4 Commission seat.
Following his swearing-in, Commissioner Reams expressed his gratitude to the citizens of the county for their votes and support. He expressed that it was his honor to be sworn in as the new commissioner for District 4.
“I look forward to serving each and every one of you, and I am ready to get to work,” Reams stated. “I pray for God’s guidance and wisdom, as well as His blessings on our county.”
