Yesterday I literally saw someone stumble over the next little problem for Rockford.
Sidewalks are the town’s domain. After much back-and-forth, the sidewalk in front of the Courthouse was repaired, at the county’s expense.
However, there is a courtyard next to the Courthouse. So there is about 40 feet of crumbling sidewalk left for people to trip over.
Who maintains that courtyard? The News wants to know! I think that whoever maintains it should take responsibility and fix the sidewalk. There are senior citizens living here.
I look forward to the coming squabble and hope it gets done before someone falls and sues the town.
